Miles Chester has worked as a Teacher and School Leader in Inner-London Primary Schools for over 25 years.
Before becoming Executive Head, Miles was Head Teacher at the school for 12 years, seeing the school through the process of academy conversion from New King’s School to Thomas's Academy. Prior to that appointment, he was Deputy Head of Sunnyhill Primary School in Lambeth.
After growing up in West London, Miles graduated from Edinburgh University with an honours degree in Biological Sciences. He went on to complete his PGCE at Roehampton University. He holds the NPQH qualification and completed his MBA in Educational Leadership at the Institute of Education in 2012.
Miles has a passion for inclusive education and has remained committed to Thomas’s Academy due to the unique opportunities that the partnership with Thomas’s London Day Schools has brought to this community school.
Alongside his role at the Academy, Miles has recently become the Director of Communities and Outreach for Thomas’s London Day Schools. Within this role, he is working to help as many children as possible to benefit from the opportunities derived from genuine state and independent school partnerships.
