Eating lunch together is a very important part of the school day. It is a key time to encourage independence and develop social skills, as well as to ensure that everyone has a good meal. School meals are cooked on site. The school catering for all the schools in the Q1E Trust is provided by Lunchtime Co. You can find out more about them on their website.

Our menu for the second half of the Autumn Term through to March 2026 is available here.

All food is freshly prepared, sourced locally wherever possible, and served by friendly staff in a safe and secure environment. Children enjoy our extensive salad and dessert bars, including a choice of daily fresh fruit, natural yoghurt pots, served with healthy topping and a weekly 'Street Feast' when they can enjoy high street style food concepts.

At Thomas's Academy, we operate a compulsory meal policy to ensure that all of the children have a hot healthy meal each day. We have focused on ensuring that the lunch offered is made up of tasty, filling and nutritious food each day of the school year.

Meal Cost

The Mayor of London announced that all primary school children in the capital will receive free school meals from September 2023 to help with the cost-of-living crisis. In April 2024, he confirmed that this programme would continue for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 academic years. All children from Reception to Year 6 will be offered a meal this academic year, free of charge to parents and carers.

For Nursery pupils who are not in receipt of income-based Free School Meals, school dinners are charged at £2.80 per day (£14 per week) payable via SchoolMoney app.
