We want children to join together as one school community and to feel pride in belonging to Thomas's Academy. Our school uniform is compulsory and has been designed to get the balance between looking smart and being practical for a busy, active day at primary school. Please ensure that your child wears the correct Thomas's Academy uniform each day.
In line with the Department for Education’s statutory guidance on the cost of school uniforms, unbranded uniform in school colours can be purchased through most major supermarkets and department stores. As part of our school commitment to sustainability, we also encourage parents to 'reuse, reduce and recycle' by purchasing pre-loved uniform where possible. Our PTA have an extensive pre-loved uniform stock available.
Where is our uniform stocked?
Our branded school uniform is available in-store and online from Sogans, 6 Greyhound Road, Hammersmith, W6 8NX. Click here for the website. Please ensure that all uniform is marked with your child’s name.
Nursery and Reception Uniform
The children are required to wear the school’s red polo shirt and the school’s blue sweatshirt. All garments with a school logo must be purchased from Sogans or from the PTA pre-loved uniform stock. Children can wear their own suitable footwear, jogging bottoms, leggings, etc, and their own weather-appropriate coats. More formal trousers and skirt options are available from Sogans for Reception children only, as a choice for parents/carers.

• Dark, plain jogging bottoms or leggings (or trousers/skirts for Reception for parental choice.)
Reception: PE and Accessories
• Plain-coloured T-shirt for PE without any branding (either red, blue, yellow or green, depending on which House your child is in)
• Plain navy shorts
• Grey jogging bottoms
• White socks, (tights cannot be worn in PE for Health and Safety reasons)
• Trainers (clean)
• Book bag, (coloured corresponding to the House team that your child is in)
Year 1 to 4 Uniform
All garments with a school logo must be purchased from Sogans or from the PTA pre-loved uniform stock. Winter uniform must be worn from October Half Term up to the Spring holidays. Summer uniform can be worn during the summer term through to the October Half Term.
Winter Uniform
• Red logo polo shirt (long sleeved if preferred)
• Blue logo crewneck sweatshirt or cardigan
• Tailored grey trousers worn with grey socks
• Navy pinafore, culottes or skirt (knee length) worn with white socks or red tights
• Black shoes (no boots or trainers)
Summer Uniform
As above, with options of:
• Tailored grey shorts worn with grey socks
• Blue and white check dress worn with white socks or white tights
• Black shoes (no sandals)
Year 5 and 6 Uniform

• School crewneck sweatshirt/ Blue V-neck jumper (for cold weather)
• White socks, (tights cannot be worn in PE for Health and Safety reasons)

Coats and Accessories Years 1-6
• Bookbag (coloured corresponding to the House team that your child is in)
• Bookbag with logo for Year 1 - Year 3
• Rucksack -this is the only bag that is permitted: Navy logo rucksack for Years 4-6
• Navy school coat (logo optional)
• A lighter, red summer cagoule can be worn instead of the school coat on warm/wet days (logo optional)
• Red or Navy beanie hat (logo optional)this is the only winter hat that is permitted
• Navy school baseball cap (logo optional) – the only summer hat that is permitted
• Navy scarf and gloves (logo optional)
General Appearance for all children
• Children with long hair must have it tied back at all times with a plain hairband
• Children should have plain hairstyles without shaved patterns
• Children should not wear any jewellery or nail varnish to school
• Children with pierced ears may only wear small, plain, stud earrings which must be removed or taped up for PE lessons for Health and Safety reasons
Additional Information
• Wellington boots may be worn to and from school during inclement weather, but children must change into school shoes at school
• The school office holds a small stock of swimming cap
